Robert A. “Bob” Kness

October 8, 1928 – October 15, 2011

My amazing Granddad passed away October 15, 2011.  He was 83 years young.  In lieu of flowers, our family has asked that donations be made to Betty’s Foundation.  Granddad was proud of the work we are doing at Betty’s Foundation.  And, Alzheimer’s disease struck close to his heart.  You see, Granddad’s mother, my great-grandmother, Marty Sendra died of Alzheimer’s disease when she was 88 years of age.  Granddad was 59 years of age at the time.  Her death profoundly affected him.  I think Granddad was afraid he would suffer the same fate.  Luckily, Granddad was sharp as a tack and still playing golf three times a week until the day he passed.

My granddad was an amazing man.  He was an avid golfer, a die-hard Yankee fan, a former semi-pro baseball player, and a dedicated family man.  He loved his family and became emotional whenever we were all around.  Thank you for honoring my amazing Granddad with your generous contribution.  You celebrate his life with your donations and you help Betty’s Foundation to achieve our goal of preserving memories through research and education.

Our Mission

Betty’s Foundation for the Elimination of Alzheimer’s Disease is a family operated nonprofit

organization that was established in December 2008. Our mission is two-fold:

1. We aim to eradicate this disease by raising funds for the most innovative and progressive

research programs in the country that are fighting to find the cause of and the cure for

Alzheimer's disease.

2. We aim to educate families about Alzheimer’s disease, and to raise overall awareness of

the difficulties faced by those dealing with the disease.

The Alzheimer’s Association estimates that as many as 5.3 million people in the United

States are living with Alzheimer’s Disease and every 70 seconds a new person develops the

disease. We aim to preserve memories and stop this disease from hurting our loved ones!

Sincerely,

Board of Directors
